Passive House -IGUA Sustainable Energy Week 2013 event: free workshop 27 June 2013

After the global energy crisis in 1974 in the world of construction and architectural practice great attention is paid to saving energy resources that are spent for heating buildings. At the present rate of use of natural energy sources (oil, gas and coal), they may already be over the next 50 years.

Passive House Standard

In the European Union as well as in Ukraine the energy demand for the construction industry is about 40% of the total energy demand, while the demand for energy for heating and cooling account for the largest share.

Passive House requires 80% less energy for heating and cooling than conventional standards of new buildings and 90% less energy than buildings of the existing housing stock. To achieve the EU target to increase energy efficiency by 20% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020, a Passive House technology will be an important tool.

  • The Passive House is a building standard, which is energy efficient, comfortable, economic and environmentally friendly at the same time.
  • The Passive House is the leading standard in energy saving in buildings worldwide.
  • The energy saving for heating amounts to over 75 % in comparison with the legally prescribed building standards.

Seven main advantages of Passive House

  • Comfort
  • Quality
  • Ecology
  • Accessibility
  • The measurement results
  • Flexibility
  • Modernization
